Videogame Love Seat - Concept Art Donate your old video game cartridges to our latest project! We are building the ultimate piece of gaming furniture - a love seat for two players who love to play video games. The full size love seat will be made entirely out of classic video game cartridges including but not limited to Atari, Nintendo, Commodore, Sega and more!

The final project will include operating classic video game systems in the arms and itself will be playable on a TV. Visitors to the museum will be encouraged to sit in the chair to have their picture taken and/or play some classic games.

We Need Your Help!

A project like this requires approximately 48,620 cubic inches of video game cartridges. Cartridges, made of older plastic, that would otherwise end up in landfill. This works out to a requirement of approximately 5,000 video game cartridges and a whole lot of expoxy/glue.

Chances are good that you might have one of these laying around Step 1DONATE. Drop off your game cartridges to us. We are available Monday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM and certain Saturdays. Special arrangements can also be made of these times are not suitable to you. Not from the area? You can mail us your cartridges. An address label is available. In addition to offering a tax receipt* for the value of the cartridges, we can also give you a receipt for the shipping costs. Don't have any cartridges, but still want to help? You can donate money to help us pay for supplies (such as glue) and acquire cartridges from local suppliers where possible. Tax receipts* for all monetary donations will be issued.

Step 2PARTICIPATE. In addition to donating your cartridges you can participate as well. Come out to our open houses to see how construction is going. You can offer suggestions and you can also help set up a donation depot in your area.

Step 3RECYCLE. Did you know that the plastic contained in most older video game cartridges cannot be easily recycled by local municipalities? It doesn't have the plastic identification number to describe the type of plastic contained within, therefore it cannot be recycled in most places (and where it can be, it has more limited uses). With things like emulators and virtual console downloads becoming more and more popular, you don't need the old cartridge anymore for your nostalgic fix. Most game stores give you very little (if anything) for older cartridges, so this is a great way to keep them out of the landfill! Donate today, help the environment of tomorrow.

Step 4SHARE. The only way this is going to be successful is if we all get together and spread the word. Please tell all your friends and family, and post the project to your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media sites. You can also print out posters and put them up in appropriate places.

* Tax receipts will be issued, upon request, to residents of Canada at the rate of $1 per cartridge received. We understand that some cartridges are worth more, however, this value is easy to justify in accordance with laws and regulations set out by the Canada Revenue Agency, under which such receipts are governed. Donations of money to help cover the costs of assembly will of course receive a face value receipt.
