For those fans who enjoyed the original virtual pet simulation Dogz, the sequel offers more of the same with several enhancements. Dogz II: Your Virtual Petz comes with five breeds built-in: mutts, scotties, chihuahuas, great danes and bulldogs. All will live on your Windows desktop, peeking around open windows, burying bones behind folders and generally playing while you work. But beware -- if you don't actively play with each one you own, they'll feel neglected and "run away."
Adopting new breeds or adding Dogz to your kennel can be done via download off several sites on the Internet including www.pfmagic.com. You can share your personal favorites with others and even post them on the Web for other Dogz owners to adopt. Interaction with your virtual pet is achieved by watching specific characteristics as time passes: tail, eyes, tongue, nose, feet -- all have specific and varied meanings and reflect your Dogz current status and "mood."
Owners of Catz can combine virtual pets in the same folder and have both types interacting and playing onscreen at the same time. Every dog has unique characteristics including demeanor, intelligence, physical ability, appearance and confidence. The program allows your Dogz to change environments by offering several modes: full-screen, playpen, active full-screen or as a screensaver. You'll need to feed (including treats), groom, play with and provide companions for your Dogz as well as train them from the time they're puppies to keep them happy and well adjusted.
Catz II is the second game in which you are given catz to play with on your computer. In this sequel there are many breeds to choose from including shorthairs and Siamese. There are also many environments for them to play in. In the playpen where you can keep an eye on them, full screen mode where your Catz can play over open applications and programs, active full screen mode where they can play behind open programs and applications. Finally there is screen saver mode where your Catz can protect your computer if you set up password activation. Along with the above there is also the Petz supply shelf where you will find many toys for your Catz to play with. On the shelf you will also find the paint tin which gives you the option to paint your Catz any colour you wish. If you own the first Catz game it is also possible for them to play in the new environment of Catz II so you don't have to give up caring for your Catz from the first game.
