This disk drive, which is mostly compatible with the Commodore 1541, was intended to be plugged into the Commodore 64. Manufactured by Oceanic Electronics, this drive is actually quite reliable and some would say much better than Commodore's own. It wasn't 100% compatible though, so some fast loaders had difficulty. It was one of (if not the) first drives to introduce external DIP switches to change the device number - a feature that Commodore copied for its own 1541-II disk drives. The company was apparently sued by Commodore and the number of these drives in the marketplace is limited. If you have any additional information to add, please contact us.
