This Australian computer was actually built and conceived in Hong Kong by Soundic Electronics. The Zilog Z80A brain was supported by 18 KB of RAM (expandable to 80 KB) and it had decent graphics with 16 colors and a 3 channel sound chip. This computer is extremely rare, with very little known about it. In our collection is a "Coleco Adapter" cartridge that when plugged in, allows you to plug in a standard Coleco game cart and play it. There was a disk drive adapter available as well, and a printer port that is covered. An interesting unit, if not just for the fact that the support for it seems so limited.

This cartridge plugs into the side of the Pencil II and gives you an additional 16K of RAM.

Not that many cartridges were released for the Pencil II. Here we have Treasure Hunter, Big Foot Chase and then the only one that appears to be professionally manufactured which is SD-Basic Version 1.0.

This Coleco Adapter almost seems like a prototype with its label made from a typewriter. If you plug this unit into the side of the Pencil II, and plug a standard Colecovision cartridge into the main unit, it works! A very interesting add-on peripheral, especially for the time.

I was looking through some old books and came across a sales brochure on this computer and I did a Google search, hence the reason for finding your site. If you are interested I could scan the brochure for you. My email is: spicedesign@live.com
