The Mega/STE was the last in the "ST" line of computers produced by Atari. As it is based on the STE machine, it includes a blitter chip and enhanced graphics chip to better compete with the Amiga computers, although this machine was more clearly designed for music and desktop publishing use. The one we have has a built-in hard drive and detachable keyboard. One unique thing about this machine is the ability (through software) to set the clock speed of the CPU between 8 and 16 for backwards compatibility. If a game didn't work in 16 MHz (few would) then you could switch back. For productivity applications, the increased speed made the experience even better.
